Our 35th hotel review experience in the past two years has set a new personal benchmark. The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Luxury division, is without a doubt our favourite stay to date.
Located just a five-minute walk from KL Sentral, the heart of Malaysia’s main transportation hub offering global connectivity, the hotel combines timeless glamour with modern convenience. The interiors are adorned with a thoughtfully curated art collection by acclaimed artists, blending rich legacies with modern history. This dedication to art and design creates an atmosphere of sophistication that elevates the entire guest experience.
The King Bed Lake View room was a sanctuary of space and comfort. Floor-to-ceiling windows showcased the lush Lake Gardens and Kuala Lumpur skyline, while the walk-in changing room paired seamlessly with the spacious bathroom featuring a Toto automatic washer toilet. A generous seating area and a large working desk further enhanced the balance of indulgence and functionality. The highlight of our stay was the signature St. Regis butler service, a tradition introduced by founder John Jacob Astor IV. Whether arranging packing, pressing garments, or delivering personalized in-room dining, every request was fulfilled with effortless precision, simply through the butler service dial button. One of our most memorable experiences was enjoying breakfast by the window as our butler elegantly set up a portable trunk table with impeccable presentation.
The hotel’s facilities are equally impressive, from the rooftop pool with sweeping views to the 24-hour Athletic Club. Our visit to Iridium Spa was a rejuvenating highlight, where the serene setting and the Signature Bespoke Massage, delivered by skilled therapists, left us feeling completely relaxed and well cared for.
Dining at The St. Regis KL was an experience in itself. The Brasserie, a Michelin-selected restaurant, delighted us with a fusion of Malaysian flavors and modern European flair. At Crystal, we relaxed with cocktails and Asian fusion bites by the rooftop pool, surrounded by majestic tower views. Astor Bar, with its glamorous charm and history as a filming location for Crazy Rich Asians, offered a taste of signature cocktails and an exclusive glimpse into the Macallan M Room whisky collection. The Drawing Room, adorned with Fernando Botero’s horse sculpture and illuminated by a grand window that filled the space with natural light, provided the perfect setting for an afternoon tea that felt like an edible art experience.
