An evening of Spanish flavours unfolded at the Culinary Collection Series, hosted at Kucina, Penang Marriott Hotel, where a thoughtfully curated menu paired with wines from the Secastilla collection. The experience was brought to life through a collaboration between Chef Azhar Azmi of Penang Marriott and Chef Victor Santos of Bocado Kuala Lumpur, offering a refined journey through regional Spanish cuisine

Our highlight was the Pulpo a la Gallega, a dish made with Galician octopus known for its simplicity and depth of flavour. Gently poached and seasoned with paprika, olive oil, and sea salt, the octopus was tender, juicy, and unforgettable. Its savoury character paired beautifully with our favourite wine of the evening Secastilla La Miranda Garnacha 2021, a medium-bodied red with bright red fruit, spice, and a graceful finish Equally memorable was the Paella de Mariscos,a seafood paella with prawns, mussels, and squid. The saffron-infused rice carried a pleasant depth and a touch of smokiness that worked well with the overall pairing.
