The latest chapter of the Culinary Collection Series at Kucina, Penang Marriott Hotel, brought an exquisite celebration of French gastronomy and wine. The collaboration between Chef Azhar Azmi of Penang Marriott and Chef Thibaut Pouplard of Andrée Restaurant-Brasserie Penang presented a refined showcase of French cuisine paired with the distinguished Clarendelle Wines, the official wine partner of the Oscars.
The evening’s culinary artistry shone in the Pour Commencer, a seafood tartar composed of oyster fine de claire, scallop, sea urchin, shrimp, avocado, caviar, and seaweed chips. The dish delivered a balance of freshness and depth, perfectly paired with the Clarendelle Bordeaux White 2023, whose crisp and elegant profile enhanced the oceanic notes of the course. Each course reflected a thoughtful balance of flavour and texture, highlighting the harmony between the chefs’ culinary vision and the wines’ distinctive character.
