Our first experience with Marriott Bonvoy’s premium Design Hotels collection brought us to Else Kuala Lumpur, a Michelin Key hotel set within a beautifully restored heritage building in the heart of Chinatown. Blending preserved architectural character with modern design, the hotel’s interiors feature warm materials, restored details, and elegantly curated spaces that feel refined and deeply connected to the building’s history.

Perfectly located in downtown Kuala Lumpur, the hotel is within walking distance to many of the city’s popular attractions, local cafés, and public transport connections. Surrounded by the vibrant energy of Chinatown, the property offers a distinctive contrast through its intimate atmosphere and carefully designed interiors.

We stayed in the Sanctuary Suite, a spacious and beautifully designed room that balanced refined design with everyday comfort. Warm lighting, soft textures, and carefully considered details created a refined yet welcoming environment throughout the suite. The room also featured premium Aesop toiletries, adding another thoughtful touch to the overall stay experience.

Breakfast at RAW Restaurant offered a refreshing start to the day, with a selection that balanced healthier flavors together with well crafted and satisfying dishes. The restaurant’s modern interior and natural lighting further complemented the dining experience.
